NEGATIVE TRANSFER SPECS / NTSC DVCAM
The following is a standard guide for one light negative transfers to NTSC DVCAM tapes.
Please transfer the 35mm developed negative as follows:
Record to 30-minute or 60-minute DVCAM cassette stock.
Record with:
continuous and ascending NDF address track timecode
windows should be as small as possible, and should rest below action safe. Burn-in should only be visible in underscan.
visible address track timecode window in lower right corner, visible keycode on the left.
production audio timecode should be placed in the lower left hand corner, stacked above keycode, outside of action safe.
Negative should be punched at the head and tail of each roll and should be numbered as follows:
neg. roll 1 = 01:00:00:00, neg. roll 2 = 02:00:00:00, etc.
if there are more than 23 rolls of negative to be transferred, please start numbering roll 24 @ 01:30:00:00, roll 25 = 02:30:00:00, etc.
Please include a 3-1/2" floppy TLC flex list for each tape.
Audio should be transferred as recorded (discrete) ch.1 to ch.1, ch.2 to ch.2 at 48K. We will need a simo-DAT @48K of the production audio with timecode that matches the DVCAM dailies.
